A Beijing exhibition centre designed by Bogle Architects and engineered by Arup has achieved a BREEAM “outstanding” rating.
The 4,071m2 dragon-shaped building forms part of the Beijing Green Building Park, overseen by the Building Research Establishment.
The building scored full marks in the energy, water and waste categories of the BREEAM green building test.
The building minimises energy use at all times. However, when energy is used the main source is waste cooking oil, while solar power offsets the carbon emissions produced by transporting it.
