On Monday 6 April 2015, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 replaced the 2007 Regulations. New policies made safety a more integral part of the design process from the concept stages. On projects where more that two contractors are involved, architects must appoint a Principal Designer.
Yui Fan Law completed the RIBA Principal Designer course in December 2015.
"It was a refreshing and fun course," said Yui. "The idea is for the designer to coordinate safety as an integral part of design, and to avoid problems at source. All very positive, something to embrace and look forward to."
The two day course adheres to CDM 2015 regulations and will become an important aspect of Bogle Architects' work on future projects.
